Safeguarding Habitats for Big Cats Across Africa

Big Cats require vast expanses of land, especially now, as their populations face critical declines. Currently, an estimated 44 million acres of African land, where Big Cats roam, remain unprotected or are managed for hunting. In response to this urgent crisis, Great Plains employs a comprehensive approach. This includes acquiring, supporting, and securing habitats outside of national parks, such as former hunting concessions, community conservancies, and migratory corridors. Additionally, Great Plains collaborates with local communities and other conservation stakeholders to protect these vital areas.
